Following an initial meeting to discuss your project, it may be agreed that a survey of your site(s) or specific area where signs are to be installed, is conducted.
This may simply be to ensure the signage proposed will fit into its desired location and/or can be easily maintained once installed, e.g. if panels need to be replaced in the future. In which case, during the survey we will discuss your requirements in greater detail and talk through any possible problems in advance, proposing solutions or alternatives to overcome any issues.
For more complex projects, such as the implementation of directional signage throughout your site(s), a well-planned and thought-out survey is essential to the success of a good signage strategy if it is to have a positive impact on your site, its users and organisation.
Our objective when surveying an existing site is to identify wayfinding problems, such as inconsistent messages, lack of information and illegibility. We will advise you on how to make navigation around your site clearer for its users. When proposing solutions, we always consider the needs of people with disabilities, helping you comply with the Disability Discrimination Act. We also provide solutions for people whose first language is not English.
When working with clients undertaking a new build project, we can create a signage schedule working with just the plans to provide an initial indication of the permanent signage that will be required.
